The Phillies inked Adolis García to a one-year, $10 million deal, installing the former Ranger in right field and all but ending Nick Castellanos’ tenure in Philadelphia. García is most remembered for his massive 2023 postseason run with Texas, where he crushed eight home runs and helped carry the Rangers through October.

He represents a major defensive upgrade over Castellanos, whom the Phillies are actively trying to move...some might say practically begging, likely while eating a portion of Nick's contract. With plenty of protection in the lineup, García has a real chance to surprise Phillies fans, but it’s not enough. The outfield remains a big issue heading into 2026 unless the Phillies can bring back Harrison Bader in center and call up Crawford for left, which would suddenly turn the unit into a defensive strength.
