If you didn't have a colonoscopy within the last year, rest assured you just received one tonight, Philadelphia. This Phillies team certainly has a way of pissing us off every post season. Every. Single. Postseason. Phils dropped a brutal 4-3 loss in game 2 and are now trailing 2-0 in the best of 5. The Phillies should be grateful Ricky Botallico wasn't in the locker room following that game, because the way he just looked at Michael Barkan says he would have ripped a few lockers out of the wall en route to his quest to wake this team up.
Meanwhile, the top of the order (1–3)? Ghosts. October again. Hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of bats that suddenly look better off burning in a trash can outside Lincoln Financial Field to keep warm for a January playoff tailgate. Meanwhile, Jesús Luzardo was masterful. At one point he mowed down 17 consecutive Dodgers- the longest streak since Roy Halladay's epic post-season no hitter. But fear not Philadelphia, we still believe! The floats are prepared and the lube is ready. At some point or another the bats are bound to wake up. Let's hope they take them to LA.
